March’s “Cover of the Week” Series Comes to a Close
Hey everybody,
So if you have been following along int he month of March, you know that every Monday we have been posting a new cover on our YouTube page. Well today is the exciting conclusion to the “Cover of the Week” series and we would like to present one last video. Check out Archie‘s acoustic performance of The Replacements’ song “Alex Chilton” :
This song was written by Paul Westerberg in 1987 for the songwriter Alex Chilton. Unfortunately, Alex passed away a little over a week ago right before he and his influential band Big Star were about to reunite at the SXSW Festival. All of us in AP&E are big Replacements fans, and I know after my first listen to Big Star, I was a Big Star fan too. We chose this song as our way of saying goodbye to a legend and master of his craft. Thank you Alex Chilton for the amazing music that inspires us and many others.I just wanted to say something quick about our last cover choice, but if you would like to read something that puts it all into perspective, please read Paul Westerberg’s editorial piece in the New York Times.
Everyone here at ExportHQ would like to thank you for tuning into our cover series. We learned a lot (like how to export videos in HD… finally) and had a lot of fun making all the videos as well as hearing all the suggestions for covers that came our way (trust us, they did not fall on deaf ears). If you happened to miss any covers, you’re in luck. They’re all posted just below for your view pleasure! Check them out and relive all the hilarity!
Thanks for watching and we will be back in April with more exciting news!
